the portrait process

My style is photo journalistic, I like to photograph the whimsical moments along with the formal ones. My goal is to capture all the special moments you will want to remember forever. Whether it be the love between a mother and child, family, newborn, senior or couple. My photos will tell a story and capture sweet memories of you and your loved ones. Let’s get started planning your session today!

before your session

Once we have your session confirmed, we can discuss locations, any specifics and details you’d like to incorporate into your portraits. Give me the good, the bad, and the funny!

We can chat and select outfits that are comfortable and make you feel beautiful. It’ll translate into gorgeous natural photos.

Let’s plan to incorporate things that are important to you. Maybe it’s a favorite family game, sharing a cup of coffee, baking, even a silly handshake or dance. I’m here for it!

Now relax, just be yourself and let’s have some fun!

the day of your session

Plan to arrive a few minutes early for us all to get introduced and aquatinted with one another. This is especially important for little ones that I haven’t met yet.

I’ll go over where we’ll be taking pictures and instruct you to basically ignore me while you enjoy and love on one another. This is also a great time to let me know any specifics you’d like me to know. ie: favorite side or that you just hate when your bangs split like I do :)

I want this to be a fun family outing, with a tag a long (me). Little ones especially right out of the car don’t want to sit still and I don’t expect them to. Let’s play a game and I can get some great candids of them exploring. Then we can get into a few posed followed by more candids. Let me know favorite games or we can always

Sometimes the key to a great session is a yummy (not messy or sticky) snack to have on hand in case your little needs a pick me up. I know I always work better after a snack or chocolate. Haha! :)

after your session

A day or two after your session I like to post a “sneak peek” on social media (with permission) or email.

Turn around time depends on the season, but usually is around 3-4 weeks.

Once your session is ready for viewing, I will send you a link to your private online gallery and from there you can either download your images instantly or purchase prints a la carte.

Galleries are available up to 3 months after a portrait session.

You are welcome to share sneak peeks and posts as well, I just ask that you do not alter images with filters so that it doesn't mislead my style and please tag me for connecting. It’s a great way to earn a referral credit!
